A több éves Badacsony-fotósorozatból készült válogatás lesz látható a
veszprémi Dubniczay Palotában május 26. és június 25. között.
A kiállítás része a Veszprém-Balaton 2023 címen zajló, Európa Kulturális
Fővárosa programoknak. A helyszínen majd 80 fotó és egy videoinstalláció
várja a közönséget, hogy a balatoni alvó vulkánt megismerjék Somogyi Krisztina,
a fotókönyv egyik szerzője által javasolt módon: “...Lassan és távlatosan legeltessék
a fotókon a szemüket, vesszenek fókuszt a párában és kalandozzanak belső tájakra
tovább. Szemeinknek szüksége van erre a máshogy nézésre. Nekünk, nézőknek
szükségünk van időtlen élményre, ősi, mágikus helyzetekre. Mindenre és a semmire.”

A projektről
"A Balaton / Badacsony / Tónus fotó- és videósorozat alapja a megfigyelés, megértés és konstrukció három pillérén nyugszik. Célja, hogy kutatásokra támaszkodva képi és hangi reprezentáció segítségével mutathassak meg valami újat arról a kultúrtájról, amelyet évtizedek óta szemlélek, fotografálok, tehát a kortárs művészet eszköztárával a rögzült sztereotípiák helyett egy
érzékletesebb és mélyebben értelmezett Balaton képet ajánljak fel interpretációra.
A koncepció – amelynek lényegi mozzanata a repetíció – nem csak gondolati, hanem a formai összegzés kísérlete is. Az ismétlődést tudatosan központban tartó fotográfiáim az ember személyes kozmikus jelenlétét vizsgálták. Az ismétlődés számomra a megértés és a befogadás ritmusát követni szándékozó alkotói nyelv. A sorozat egyik legfontosabb inspirációja az időhasználattal fenntartott kapcsolatom. A tónus ebben az esetben egyesíti a zenei hangsúlyokat és a vizualitáshoz köthető téziseket.
Az alkotási folyamat 2015-ben kezdődött és azóta is tart megörökítve a táj időtlenségét, a látvány maradandó, de mégis sohasem önmagát ismétlőváltozatainak tárolását célul tűzve. A képrögzítés technikai folyamata is változáson ment át a kezdetek óta, a kor mediális lehetőségeivel élve webkamerák távolra látó képességét is kihasználom már. A megörökített Badacsony-pillanatokat folyamatosan megosztom a közösségi média felületeken és így vált inspiráló erővé mások számára is. És így lett alkotótársam a mozgóképekre reagáló Jávorka Ádám zeneszerző is. A tőle származó képre készült hang-válaszok adták az ötletét egy új filmnek is, ahol a válogatott és összefűzött képsorok Jávorka Ádám által komponált zenei hangzással válnak teljessé."

A selection from the Badacsony photo series, which spans several years, will be on display at the Dubniczay Palace in Veszprém between 26 May and 25 June. The exhibition is part of the European Capital of Culture Veszprém-Balaton 2023. Almost 80 photos and a video installation will be on display for the public to get to know the sleeping volcano of Lake Balaton. The viewer is advised by Krisztina Somogyi, one of the authors of the Badacsony photobook: “Feast your eyes from a distance on the photographs, lose your focus in the mist and wander further to the inner landscapes. Our eyes require this other type of seeing. We, the viewers, need timeless experiences and ancient, magical locations. We need everything and nothing.”

About the project
"The Balaton / Badacsony / Tone photo and video series are based on the three pillars of observation, understanding, and construction. The aim is to show something new about the cultural landscape that I have been observing and photographing for decades through visual and audio representation, and thus to offer a more sensual and deeply understood image of Balaton for interpretation by using the tools of contemporary art instead of fixed stereotypes.
The main idea is not only summarising on a conceptual level but also an attempt at a formal summary. My photographs, consciously made with repetition, explore human's personal cosmic presence. Repetition for me is an artistic language that seeks to follow the rhythm of understanding and reception. One of the main inspirations for this series is my relationship with the use of time itself. The tone in this case combines musical highlights and theses related to visuality.
The creative process began in 2015 and has been ongoing since, capturing the timelessness of the landscape, aiming to store a permanent yet never repetitive version of the landscape. The technical process of capturing images has also changed since the beginning, and with the media possibilities of the time, I now also take advantage of the remote viewing capabilities of webcams. The moments I capture on Badacsony are constantly shared on social media and have become a source of inspiration for others. And that's how Ádám Jávorka, a composer became a creative partner in the Badacsony-series by reacting to the posted videos with his dedicated compositions. These sound "responses" gave me the idea of a video installation where the selected video recordings are completed with music compositions by Ádám Jávorka."
